What Courta is
Courta is a marketplace: it helps people find and join pickup games, book lessons and sessions with independent coaches and organizers, and see when courts are booked. Courta does not run the games, coach the lessons, or own the courts. The people and venues you meet through Courta are independent of us.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account, or have a parent or guardian create and manage it for you. Give accurate information and keep your login to yourself. Guest sessions are real accounts with no email or password — if you close them without saving, they can't be recovered. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Playing is at your own risk
Sports involve physical activity and a risk of injury. By joining a game, session, or lesson you accept that risk. Know your limits, check the court, and follow the rules of the venue. Courta isn't responsible for injuries, lost property, or disputes between players, coaches, and venues.
Prices, fees, and payments
Courts set court prices; coaches and organizers set their own fees; Courta adds a booking fee that is shown before you pay. Courta's fee applies to games at courts that take bookings through Courta and to your first three lessons with any one coach — after that, lessons with that coach carry only card processing. Courts listed as "pay at the venue" are paid directly at the venue and Courta charges nothing. Payments are processed by Stripe — Courta never sees your card number. Where a game shows "payments simulated," nothing is charged.
Refunds. If the host, coach, or organizer cancels, you get a full refund. If you leave a game or cancel a lesson at least 24 hours before it starts, you get a full refund. Later than that, no refund. Courta's booking fee is refunded along with the rest.
Coaches, organizers, and court managers
If you offer coaching, run sessions, or manage a court on Courta, you are an independent business, not a Courta employee or contractor. You are responsible for your own permits (many public parks require one to teach or charge), insurance, taxes, and for the accuracy of what you list. You receive your share of bookings through Stripe once you set up payouts; until then Courta holds it for you. Courta may remove listings or managers that break these terms.
Reviews, photos, and messages
Be honest and be decent. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share, anything harassing, or anything that isn't about the court, coach, or game. You keep ownership of what you post and give Courta permission to show it in the app. Anyone can report content; Courta may remove it and may suspend accounts that repeatedly break these rules.
Ending things
You can stop using Courta at any time. Courta can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk. Bookings already paid for are handled under the refund rules above.
No warranties, limited liability
Courta is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and available but don't promise that it always will be, or that every game, coach, or court will be as described. To the extent the law allows, Courta's liability to you is limited to the fees you paid Courta in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of California. We may update them; when we do, the date at the top changes and continuing to use Courta means you accept the update. Questions: support@courta.co. See also the Privacy Policy.
