Players
Do I need an account to play?
No. Tap "Play as guest" on the login page with just your name and join a game. Make an account later to keep your games, friends and history.
How do I join a game?
Open it from Discover and tap Join. At a free public court that's it. At a paid court or a coach session you'll see the full price, pay by card, and get a confirmation.
What does it cost?
Nothing at free courts. On paid bookings, a small fee on top of the price, shown before you pay. See pricing for the exact numbers.
I can't make it. Can I get a refund?
Leave the game from its page. 24 hours or more before the start you get a full refund; later than that, the spot is released without one. If the host cancels, everyone is refunded. Full policy: refunds.
Where are my games?
Under My games (list) and Schedule (week view). Each game has an "Add to calendar" link and a share link for friends.
What is "Play now"?
It posts a game at the nearest court for the next half hour so anyone nearby can grab a spot. Tap "Use my location" on Discover first so we can pick the closest court.
What happens to my payment while I'm in checkout?
Your spot is held for 30 minutes while you pay. If checkout isn't finished, the hold expires and the spot reopens.
Coaches
How do I list myself?
Turn on coaching in your profile: sports, hourly rate, certifications, photo, preferred court. Then add your weekly availability. Listing is free.
What does Courta take?
Nothing from you. The student pays a booking fee on their first 3 lessons with you, then only card processing. You receive your rate in full.
How do I get paid?
Connect a bank account from your profile (Stripe handles it). Your share of each lesson is transferred automatically after the lesson.
Can I list a clinic or open play?
Yes. From Host, choose "Session you run", set your fee per player and the number of spots.
Venues
How do I claim my court?
Find it under Courts, tap "Claim this court" and tell us how to reach you. We approve claims by hand and then switch on bookings for your listing.
What can I control?
Your hourly rate, a peak rate and window, opening hours, closures, and how many games can run at once. Plus a dashboard with bookings, players and revenue.
My court isn't listed.
Use Suggest a court and we'll add it, usually within a day.
What does it cost?
Nothing. See Courta for venues.
Golf
How does golf work on Courta?
A round is posted like a game: a course, a tee time, up to four players. Join to fill the group. Green fees are paid at the course, as always; Courta charges nothing for rounds at public courses.
Can I book a golf lesson?
Yes. Pros list themselves like any coach with a rate and open hours. Book a slot on their page.
Which courses are listed?
Los Angeles public courses to start. Missing one? Tell us.
