Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and anything you add to your profile — photo, age, skill level, bio, certifications, coaching fee, preferred court.
• Activity: games you host or join, lessons you book, invites, friend requests, messages on invites, reviews, photos you upload, reports you file.
• Location: only if you tap "Use my location." It's kept in your browser (not on our servers) to sort courts by distance and pick the nearest court for Play now. Turn it off from the same button.
• Payments: handled by Stripe on Stripe's pages. We store what you booked, the amount, and Stripe's reference numbers — never your card number.
• Google sign-in: if you use it, Google gives us your name, email, and profile photo.

How we use it

To run Courta: show games and courts, let people book, pay coaches and courts their share, send you notifications about your games (email copies can be turned off on your profile), show your public player page to other players, and keep the community safe (reports, moderation). We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.

What other players can see

Your name, photo, skill level, age (if you added it), bio, certifications, reviews you've written, and the public games and sessions you host. Private lessons are visible only to you and the coach. Your email is never shown to other players.

Who we share it with

The services Courta runs on, each only for their part of the job: Vercel (hosting and photo storage), Neon (database), Stripe (payments and payouts), Resend (email), and Google (sign-in, if you use it). Coaches and court managers see the name of who booked with them. We'll share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you logged in. Location preference lives in your browser's local storage. Basic, anonymous usage analytics (which pages are visited, how fast they load) help us fix what's slow or broken.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your data while you have an account. To delete your account and data, email us and we'll do it within 30 days; records of payments are kept as long as tax and payment rules require.

Children

Courta is for adults, or for minors whose parent or guardian manages the account.
